General Counsel
Darron Farha’s Background:
Farha graduated from Pittsburg State University with a Bachelor of Business Administration in 1995. He worked in outside sales from 1995 until 1998 before going to graduate school. He graduated with a JD from the University of Kansas School of Law and an MBA from the Washburn University School of Business in May of 2001. He has been practicing law since 2001; working in the private practice of law until 2003 and as General Counsel for Pittsburg State University from July 2003 to present.
Farha is licensed to practice law in Kansas and Missouri and holds memberships in the Kansas, Missouri, and Crawford County Kansas Bar Associations. He is also a past president of the Crawford County Kansas Bar Association.
Duties:
- Provide legal advice to the University administration.
- Serve as a member on the University President’s Council.
- Represent the University in labor negations with the faculty bargaining unit.
- Investigate and defend grievances brought against the University.
- Manage and assist with litigation brought against the University.
- Represent the University in administrative matters filed with regulatory agencies.
- Draft, edit, and negotiate contracts on behalf of the University.
- Serve as a Special Assistant Attorney General to the Kansas Attorney General.
